Recentemente, fiz o curso “Psicologia da Afluência”, viabilizado pela Ancord, uma importante organização na área de mercado de capitais. Pois bem, vamos ao que interessa! Hoje é comemorado mundialmente o Dia do Rock, então, resolvi trazer minha banda predileta, os Beatles, para analisar uma de suas músicas emblemáticas à luz dos insights possibilitados pelo curso supradito.
Can’t buy me love é entendida, desde sua concepção, como uma subversão ao sistema capitalista tradicional – e concordo com isso, haja vista que o american way of life pregava, literalmente, que o dinheiro poderia comprar tudo. Basta uma breve revisão na história para percebermos a catástrofe socioeconômica (humana!) que tal crença sobre o dinheiro acarretou.
O fato é que o modelo capitalista vem abrindo espaço para o diálogo com outras áreas do saber – ou se “socializando” – em busca do equilíbrio que proporcione um desenvolvimento econômico sustentável. É por isso que Can’t buy me love deve ser interpretada não como uma crítica, mas como a chave para uma relação saudável com o dinheiro.
QUAL O PROPÓSITO DO DINHEIRO?
O dinheiro é uma ferramenta ou um símbolo. Quando nós atribuímos valor à ferramenta, perdemos o rumo! Ao voltarmos nossa atenção para a ferramenta, o foco nas coisas imateriais se esvai.
A vida é sobre significados: amor, amizade, beleza, paz, propósito… Significados não podem ser comprados ou vendidos. Os significados vêm através de conexões: com a família, com os amigos, com os animais, com a natureza… Conexões tampouco podem ser mercantilizadas. Significados e conexões: pronto, está posta a felicidade!
Quando perguntamos a alguém: “O que te faria feliz?” e a pessoa responde: “Ficar rico!”:
– Não é o dinheiro que lhe faria feliz, e sim o que ele proporcionaria (como instrumento) a quem lhe dá significado (valor) à vida. Por exemplo: pagar a faculdade de um filho; viajar com a família.
– Por isso é que se diz que o dinheiro “traz” (enquanto ferramenta) felicidade (até certo ponto, há um limite!). Vários estudos feitos por instituições de renome indicaram o máximo de riqueza que uma família é “capaz de suportar feliz” – convertendo para reais, o “teto” seria cerca de vinte mil por mês, ou seja, nada de querer ficar milionário nem ganhar na loteria!
Não se iluda, provavelmente você que está lendo este texto já tem significados ricos e conexões valiosas. O dinheiro é um instrumento para comprar um anel de diamantes: I’ll buy you a diamond ring, my friend, mas ele não compra o amor, significado que vem por meio de uma conexão, e nos traz (sem aspas) tanta felicidade! ‘Cause I don’t care too much for money, money can’t buy me love!
