A LRP faz parte do Projeto Pense Verde, que possui como tripé a educação e conscientização ambiental, a viabilização de locais de plantio e o cultivo de mudas. Acreditamos que é possível restabelecer o equilíbrio entre natureza e progresso! O texto a seguir foi escrito por um dos idealizadores do projeto, Estêvão Villas e a jornalista Ana Soares.
Muitos acreditam que progresso e meio ambiente são coisas completamente opostas, e o verdadeiro desafio da humanidade é construir, expandir e se reproduzir, porém, em equilíbrio com o meio ambiente. Frear o sistema é impossível, caso contrário, morremos. No entanto, desde a antiguidade, já existiam pessoas preocupadas com o equilíbrio ecológico.

A arborização é de vital importância para qualquer comunidade, pois, com uma área verde maior, a temperatura é mais baixa, evitando as ilhas de calor. A qualidade do ar também melhora muito, pois as partículas de poluição são retidas nas folhas das árvores. Plantas protegem o solo da erosão e auxiliam na absorção da água da chuva, evitando assoreamento dos rios e enchentes.

Além desses vários benefícios, as áreas verdes são importantes mantenedores da biodiversidade. Várias espécies de animais e plantas encontram abrigo e condições mais favoráveis à sobrevivência!

O primeiro registro de projetos sustentáveis na história humana foi na Babilônia, uma cidade antiga que prosperou, onde hoje é situado o Iraque, e é considerada uma das 7 maravilhas do mundo antigo. O imperador Nabucodonosor II construiu um gigantesco jardim suspenso para agradar sua esposa. Imaginem o clima agradável dessa cidade?

Queremos contribuir para que, no futuro, nossas cidades tenham 10x mais árvores e plantas! E você, o que acha sobre isso?
A LRP apoia a bioeconomia, isto é, uma economia sustentável, a qual propõe um modelo de produção baseada na utilização de recursos biológicos (renováveis, reutilizáveis, recicláveis). Sendo assim, a bioeconomia apresenta soluções para problemas contemporâneos, como os relacionados às mudanças climáticas, por meio da substituição de uso de energias fósseis. O Estêvão e a Ana também falaram sobre isso:
Você sabia que o petróleo não é um recurso infinito?
Ele é um óleo originado da decomposição de animais e matéria orgânica ao longo de milhões de anos. Encontrado em grandes profundidades, é uma substância altamente inflamável, sendo usada como base de muitos combustíveis em motores e fábricas. Sua extração é de extremo risco e, durante o processo, é possível ocorrer diversos acidentes e danos ambientais. Inclusive, muitas guerras entre nações já foram travadas pelo controle desse recurso. E quando o petróleo acabar?
A ciência já descobriu outras formas de combustível e de geração de energia. Sim! Existem combustíveis que podem ser fabricados usando matéria prima natural, sustentável e de fácil obtenção, como o exemplo, da Cana de Açúcar e do Cânhamo.
Podemos usar recursos renováveis e infinitos para obter energia: sol, ventos, marés, calor da Terra e biomassa, que produzem quantidades de energia semelhantes e podem, até mesmo, ser melhores que as formas tradicionais!
Já existem carros e motos elétricas, usinas de energia solar e eólicas espalhadas por todo o planeta. Adotando e popularizando essas novas estratégias, conseguimos diminuir muito a emissão de CO2 e de outros gases que contribuem para o aquecimento da atmosfera!
O futuro da humanidade é muito promissor, porém devemos sempre fazer a nossa parte e continuar orientando as pessoas e incentivando mudanças, esse é o papel do Projeto Pense Verde!
Finalizamos com o princípio da responsabilidade, chamado na filosofia de imperativo ético, do filósofo e professor alemão Hans Jonas: “age de tal maneira que a máxima de sua ação permita a perpetuação dos seres humanos no planeta”.
